Old Salem Farm is known throughout the country as one of the most iconic horse-show venues., This magnificent 120 acre property plays host to an awe-inspiring 85 foot barn that sits at the top of a hill. The Farm hosts 26 shows a year that range from local to international events. They have also partnered with many a local charity.

The facilities at Old Salem Farm are state-of-the-art and include three indoor arenas, a grand prix field and four indoor riding rings. Here horse owners will find top level training and the highest level of care. Horses also have luxury accommodations inside of the 67 stall barn with room for up to 1200 guests. For those boarding their horses at Old Salem Farm, there is an exclusive lounge which provides space for relaxation or a quick work out in the gym.

Old Salem Farm hosts a two week annual spring show during which there are over 130 jumper and hunter classes each week. The show includes a USHJA International Hunter Derby, four Grand Prix and close to $500,000 in prize money. The farm also offers an annual summer camp and a riding academy.

One of several centers dedicated to species survival and recovery, the Wolf Conservation Center teaches people about wolves. Committed to the protection of the Mexican Gray and Red Wolf populations, this facility is actively involved in the captive breeding and prepared release of these extremely endangered mammals.

As one of the most rare and misunderstood animals in North America, the wolf has fallen victim to rampant negative mythology and intolerance. By exploring the wolves’ relationship to the environment and the human role in protecting them, The Wolf Conservation Center helps to educate the public about their plight. Visitors will find both on-site and off-site educational programs covering everything from basic wolf biology, ecological benefits of wolves and the current state of wolf recovery in the US. The center exhibits allow guests the opportunity to witness these incredible creatures while the webcams afford access to a global audience. Onsite programs are designed to cater to specific age levels. Preregistration is required.

The WCC is open to visitors by appointment only. Drop-ins are not permitted.

A family owned and operated apple orchard, Harvest Moon Farm & Orchard grows a variety of stone fruits and vegetables. Produce is available for sale through the farm store and through membership in their 18-week Summer/Fall CSA program. If meat protein is more you speed then you’ll find a wonderful variety of hormone and antibiotic-free organic meats available including chicken, pork, turkey and 100% grass-fed beef. The locally farmed offerings don’t end there; Harvest Moon Farm & Orchard also sells their own Hardscrabble Cider in addition to local honey, local cheese & dairy, local maple syrup, fresh fee-range eggs and a variety of incredible country store items. From their famous apple cider donuts, to the warm bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and an array of other slow cooked options, all ingredients are grown locally on the farm.

The farm offers apple picking in season and ongoing group tours. On weekends you can enjoy hayrides, apple cannons, live music farm animals, pony rides and face painting along with food and craft vendors. Please keep in mind that dogs are not allowed on property.

Characterized by native hardwoods and rugged landscape, Mountain Lakes Park offers visitors the opportunity to see wildlife as they explore miles of trails. Boasting five lakes and a breathtaking overlook, the park is a stunning hiking destination. The main loop spans 3.9 miles and is moderately trafficked route that is appropriate for all skill levels. The loop is also dog-friendly.

Considered a total outdoor experience, guests have access to each of the five lakes which are open for public skating, fishing and canoeing. In addition Mountain Lakes Park offers snow-shoeing, a high / low ropes challenge course, cross-country skiing and nature exploration. For those in search of an even bigger adventure, you can extend your stay by renting a yurt overnight.
